Crowns are restorations that covers the entire tooth.  It can change the size, shape and color of the teeth in as few as 2 visits, sometimes done for functional reasons(after a root canal to prevent tooth fracture) and sometimes done for cosmetic reasons to change appearance  or to mask severley discoloured teeth.
